Vinification is done by Egon Muller with winemaking techniques more common to German wines resulting for a very distinctive pristine style quite unlike the mainstream of Riesling made in Australia. Steve Pannell oversees the development of the wine for the rest of the year.
From the frost affected 2007 vintage, only tiny quantities of Riesling came from this mature vineyard. Terrific acidity and structure this vintage, and while showing well now it will age superbly. Very Limited.
"There are flashes of peach, lime and chalk too - this is a complex young Riesling with an assertive mouthfeel - it's grippy. it's worth seeking out: it's different."
